ReelPaint is an app for painting, scratching and stamping on virtual 16mm film and playing it back.
The short version
ReelPaint does not collect, send or share any personal information from anyone. There are no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking.
What stays on your device
Your reels (the marks you paint), your folders, and your settings are saved on your iPhone or iPad only. They are never uploaded by the app. If you delete the app, they are deleted with it, unless you saved a backup file yourself.
Photos
If you choose "Save to Photos" after exporting a video or still image, ReelPaint asks permission to add that file to your Photos library. It can only add; it cannot see or read your other photos.
Files you save or share
When you use "Share" or back up your reels, the file goes where you choose (Files, AirDrop, Mail and so on) using Apple's share sheet. ReelPaint does not see or keep where it went.
Opening reel files
If you open a ReelPaint reel or backup file from Files, Mail or AirDrop, the app reads that file on your device to add the reel to your library.
Internet
ReelPaint itself makes no internet connections. It works fully offline, and its fonts and video tools are bundled inside the app. The only time your device contacts the internet because of ReelPaint is when you buy or restore ReelPaint Studio, and then it is iOS talking to Apple, not the app (see Purchases).
Purchases
ReelPaint has one optional in-app purchase, ReelPaint Studio, a one-off payment. Apple handles the payment, the receipt and restoring your purchase on another device. ReelPaint never sees your payment details, and we receive no information about who bought it. The app only learns from Apple, on your device, whether ReelPaint is unlocked.
Feedback
If you choose Send feedback, ReelPaint opens a draft email in your own mail app. You decide whether to send it. The draft shows the app version and your device model, and you can edit or delete them. ReelPaint itself sends nothing.
